What To Do If You’re Suffering From Low Thyroid

Do you suffer with low thyroid

If you’re suffering from low thyroid, or you think you might be, you need to make an appointment with your doctor as soon as you can. Although having a low thyroid is not immediately life-threatening, the consequences of not getting the right treatment could have devastating effects on your health.

Low thyroid shows itself in many different forms, but the most popular are: fatigue (Extreme tiredness), muscle cramps, joint pains, sore throat and a coarse voice, menstruation problems, weight gain, brittle and thin nails, depression, unable tolerate the cold and weakness among other symptoms.

A lot of cases of low thyroid are very hard to diagnose because the main symptoms are fatigue, joint pains, and the inability to tolerate the cold. These symptoms also show themselves when someone is suffering from flu, which is why people are often misdiagnosed.

If you think you’re suffering from low thyroid, you need to make sure your doctor listens to you and understands you symptoms. If you do not get the treatment you need, you could become quite ill, so if there’s a chance you have a thyroid problem, don’t sweep it under the carpet, make sure you deal with it as soon as you can.

Although low thyroid can make you feel pretty ill, there’s not a lot of treatment that can help the issue. Medication can help to correct the problem, but it doesn’t help with the depression that people who suffer from low thyroid often get.

This depression may not always vanish when a sufferer takes their medication, which means they’re still left with a bit of a problem.

Sufferers of low thyroid often feel as if they’ve been pushed to one side as there’s not much help for this potentially life-changing condition. We’re told medication will help us get better, but we’re not always given the right medication in the first place.

This coupled with the fact that a lot of cases are misdiagnosed for a while, can leave you feeling quite isolated and as if life is passing you by.

If you’re suffering from low thyroid, monitor your condition carefully and be aware of any changes. Seek help and advice from your doctor and don’t be brushed aside. If you don’t think you have flu, you may not have flu. Try not to get paranoid about the condition, just be sensible and ask for the right help.
